TARABYA SANATÇILAR ŞEN HOUSE

Located in Tarabya Sanatçılar Sitesi, Şen House was undertaken in 2026 as a comprehensive renovation project for a couple. Worn down over time by water damage, with a kitchen and bathroom that no longer functioned, the garden apartment was completely renovated, including its doors, parquet flooring, wall plaster, kitchen and bathroom. The design is based on a simple spatial scheme that steers clear of passing trends and puts timelessness first. Through a limited material palette, soft color transitions and a balanced use of light, the aim was to create a calm interior free of visual clutter. As the apartment receives little daylight, light tones were chosen for the color palette; together with wood and stone textures, the light-colored surfaces make the space feel brighter and more spacious. In the bedroom, a headboard wall framed with wooden panels, illuminated open shelves and a dressing table with a round mirror form a warm, balanced composition. The bathroom features stone-textured cladding, a wood-look vanity unit, a backlit organic-shaped mirror and recessed wall niches. In the kitchen, cream-toned framed cabinet doors, illuminated glass display cabinets and a marble countertop were chosen. Doors and windows opening onto the garden connect the kitchen directly with the outdoors.
